Available now is this Auscision BL28 in Australian National livery, a highly detailed model of the popular BL class locomotive. This example is in great condition and comes with its original box.

This version features recessed footholes at the No. 1 end, single wipers, no ditch lights, coupler lights at both ends, MU hose on the nose at both ends, impact-resistant windscreens on the A end only, and an equipment locker, making it a nicely specified model for those wanting a more accurate BL class variant.

Condition note: the exhaust fan has come off and now requires minor paint touch-up. Aside from this, the model presents very well and would make a strong addition to a collection or operating fleet.

Auscision’s BL class models are regarded as some of the most accurate and highly detailed available on the market. Features include a ready-to-run ABS plastic body, heavy die-cast chassis, blackened metal disc wheels (RP25-110), scale-sized metal knuckle couplers, highly detailed underframe, and separately applied metal parts. Further detailing includes brass horns, metal and plastic handrails and brake piping, highly detailed bogies with separately applied parts, metal etched mirrors and windscreen wipers, see-through metal etched grilles, painted driver figures, and separately applied air hoses and MU cables.

Mechanically, the locomotive is fitted with a 5-pole skew wound motor with twin brass flywheels, along with all wheel drive and electrical pickup for smooth operation. It will operate on Code 70, 83 and 100 rail, with an 18-inch recommended minimum radius.

Lighting features include operating LED headlights, number box lights, marker lights, and ditch lights where applicable, all with a manual override switch.
