Prototype Background
The GH class grain wagons were purpose-built for transporting bulk grain across the Victorian Railways and later V/Line network.
Featuring roof loading hatches and bottom discharge systems, these wagons were designed for efficient loading and unloading at grain silos and terminals.
Finished in bright liveries such as Hansa Yellow, they became a familiar sight in unit grain trains and mixed freight services, particularly from the late VR era through to V/Line operations.
