During the Victorian Railways era, a number of wagons were painted in commercial advertising liveries promoting well-known brands whose goods were transported by rail.

These wagons travelled within general freight consists, standing out amongst the traditional wagon red fleet with bold company branding.

The Orlando Wines advertising wagon is one of these distinctive examples, representing the close relationship between rail freight and Australia’s wine industry during the VR era.
