Bachmann Narrow Gauge 393-178 RNAD Flat Wagon – Dean Hill (OO9 Scale)

A$54.99

This Bachmann Narrow Gauge OO9 RNAD Flat Wagon represents a Royal Navy Armaments Depot (RNAD) wagon from Dean Hill, finished in pristine depot livery and featuring distinctive 3-plank ends.

A unique and historically interesting model, this release marks the first time Bachmann has produced this specific flat wagon type with 3-plank ends.

Prototype Background

Royal Navy Armaments Depots (RNAD) were vital military facilities used for the storage and distribution of munitions for the Royal Navy and allied forces.

Many RNAD sites, including Dean Hill, operated internal narrow gauge railway systems to move materials between magazines, workshops, and transfer points with the mainline network.

These rail systems used purpose-built rollingstock, such as this flat wagon, designed for handling a wide variety of loads in secure environments.

Following depot closures, a number of these wagons have since been preserved on heritage railways, offering a rare glimpse into this specialised railway operation.
