Product Description

The Dinorwic Slate Quarry was once the second largest slate quarry in the world, operating an extensive narrow gauge railway network to move slate and materials around the site and on to transhipment points. To meet these demands, Dinorwic employed countless four-wheel wagons built to its own distinctive designs, often hauled by Quarry Hunslet locomotives.

These Dinorwic flat bed wagons without sides were primarily used to transport slabs of slate from the quarry face to dressing and finishing buildings, but were also suitable for moving large and bulky items throughout the quarry complex.
