Leyland Tiger Cub – OO Gauge Diecast Model (1:76 Scale)

Scale/Gauge: OO Gauge (1:76)

Product Description

This finely detailed Leyland Tiger Cub bus from Oxford Diecast features Saunders-Roe (SARO) bodywork, mounted on the lightweight underfloor-engined Tiger Cub chassis produced by Leyland between 1952 and 1970. Most examples were built as 44–45 seat service buses, with a smaller number used as coaches.

For this release, the model is finished in the livery of East Midland Motor Services (EMMS), a company with a long and varied history. Originally part of the East Midlands Company—owned by the LNER and LMS railways in the late 1920s—its assets were later acquired by the newly formed East Midland Motor Services in the early 1930s. EMMS became part of the National Bus Company in 1968, absorbed Mansfield & District Traction Company in 1976, and was eventually acquired by Stagecoach in 1989.

This 1:76 scale model represents bus ORR 325, operating as Route No. 17 to Chesterfield. It wears EMMS’s distinctive two-tone livery, featuring an orange lower body with red-brown upper panels and roof, echoed on the mudguards and wheels. A cream waistband runs along the sides with chrome band detailing between the axles. East Midland lettering appears in red beneath the windows, while the interior is faithfully reproduced with chocolate-brown seating, a dark beige floor, and a grey-beige dashboard. Completing the look is the brightly coloured Tiger Cub emblem positioned below the split windscreen.
