Product Description

This Ford Transit Mk1 from Oxford Diecast represents one of Britain’s most recognisable and successful light commercial vehicles. First released in 1965, the Mk1 Transit remained in production until 1978, when it was replaced by the updated Mk2. Designed as the successor to the Ford 400E, the Transit quickly became a best-seller and has since gone on to achieve over eight million sales worldwide.

Finished in plain white, this model depicts vehicle GYH 194D (1966) and could easily represent the original and iconic “white van”. It features the long wheelbase, widened wheel arches, and rear double doors characteristic of the prototype.

Detailing is excellent throughout, with contrasting black applied to the chassis, window surrounds, radiator grille and slots, interior, and steering wheel. The wheels are finished in white with silver hubcaps, while the door handles and bonnet-mounted wing mirrors are also picked out in silver. Chrome-finished bumpers complete the authentic period look.
