Prototype Background

The Victorian Railways U Van was a standard covered goods wagon used across the VR freight network for many decades.

Designed to carry general freight and packaged goods, these wagons were extremely versatile and appeared in mixed goods trains operating across both branch lines and mainline routes throughout Victoria.
