PECO Ffestiniog Railway Bug Box Coach No.5 1970s/80s Preservation Livery
1970s/80s Preservation Livery R-558C
The PECO GR-558C Ffestiniog Railway Bug Box Coach No.5 is a beautifully detailed OO9 gauge model representing one of the famous four-wheel coaches of the Ffestiniog Railway.
Originally built in 1864 by Brown Marshall & Co of Birmingham, these small coaches were officially known as Small Birminghams, but became better known by their nickname, Bug Boxes, thanks to their compact size.
This model is finished in the 1970s/80s preservation livery, authentically recreated in miniature with reference to the preserved prototypes. PECO has replicated the intricate colour scheme and fine details, including features such as roof oil lamp vents and the correct coach styling.
The real Bug Boxes remain in use during special events on the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railways, forming part of the Victorian train.
