Save the St Kilda Line - T-Shirt
Save the St Kilda Line - T-Shirt
Opened in 1857, the historic St Kilda railway line was one of Melbourne’s earliest suburban railways. Originally operated by steam trains and later electrified under Victorian Railways, the line served Melbourne for 130 years.
Despite community campaigns to save the railway, the final train ran in July 1987. The route was converted into the St Kilda Light Rail later that year and now forms part of Melbourne’s Route 96 tram line.
