This FDM printed manual model railway switch is a compact and easy-to-install solution for controlling turnout points on your layout.

The switch uses a slide-lock adjustment system that allows you to fine-tune the throw and tension to suit different turnout types.

Installation Overview

1. Remove the two screws and place the electrical switch so the toggle sits in the throw bar cavity and the main body sits in the shaped cavity.

2. Replace the cover.

3. Insert the long portion of the throw wire through the throw bar hole, with the short portion placed in one of the holes on the adjustment post.

4. Press the adjustment post into the slot on the bottom of the unit.

5. Temporarily mount the switch under the layout using double-sided tape to test positioning.

Adjusting the Throw

If adjustment is required:

• Remove the adjustment post from the slot.

• Move the wire to a different hole on the post.

• Reassemble and test.

Adjustment guide:

• Higher hole = greater throw

• Lower hole = smaller throw

Once the correct position and throw are confirmed:

1. Mark the switch location, adjustment hole used, and wire length.

2. Remove the unit and trim the throw wire to length.

3. Glue the adjustment post to the main body using a solvent such as MEK or Superglue

4. Reinstall the unit and connect wiring.

Installation Tip

It is recommended that the electrical switch contacts are pre-tinned before installation to make final wiring easier.
